Does what it says on the tin! I received an email recently from someone asking how they would go about expiring their users’ passwords every so often. I saw the value in the idea so rather than explain it I decided to write a plugin to do it.
This new plugin of mine predictably called SB Password Expiry runs when a user tries to login. If the password as not changed for more than a configurable number of days then the login is refused, password changed and a new one emailed. The email content is also configurable as is the message the user sees on being refused the login.
Usage
It should work out of the box with a default 90 day expiry period so simply upload the plugin to your site and activate it and it will do the rest. if at any point you want to disable it then simply deactivate the plugin.
