NewMedias get’s it’s third musketeer!

Those of you who know me from the NewMedias Your Members project will remember that for years it has been a two man band. Some were sceptical about the future of Your Members and whether it was just going to fizzle away like so many other Wordpress plugins. I am pleased to now tell you that actually no, we aren’t going anywhere and in fact will be trying to get things moving again with help of the latest member of the team, Glenn Pegden. Glenn has a varied background, likes long walks on the beach and candle lit dinners. I understand he also knows a thing or two about sales and therefore he will be kicking myself and Tim Nash into shape to get the plugin(s) updated, pretty and unmissable!

Current plans include a whole new website just for the Your Members plugin to house things like… wait for it… documentation and a proper list of the things it can actually do! We have recently released YM version 1.6 which is the best version yet! We hope to get some feedback and tweets to the new YM Twitter account for things that you, the community, would like to see and then get the next version out to you sometime in the next couple of months.

More ‘Your Brand’ Products Released/Updated

I generally like to write how-tos and tutorials on this site but I feel the need to mention some of the Wordpress work i have been doing with Tim Nash.

We have been working very hard over the last couple of months putting together a number of new plugins and updating some older ones.

Finally we got the major bugs ironed out and the products released last week. They are as follows:

Your Members 1.4.5 – Final planned release before YM 2.0
Your Minder 2.0
Your CAPTCHA Adverts – CAPTCHA but advert based

The following additions to Your Members were released:

The following products are currently in closed Beta and will be shortly be released for all (in Beta):

Your Responder – Autoresponder Plugin
Your Classifieds – Classified Advertising Plugin

All of the products have had their interfaces ‘tweaked’ to allow for the reshuffle (complete change) in the recent release of Wordpress 2.7 and we are always optimising the code to be both more maintainable and more efficient.

Your Responder

Newmedias are about to release a new plugin to go with the ‘Your Brand’ family called Your Responder. It is an autoresponder plugin for Wordpress that integrates nicely with the Your Members plugin.

It allows your readers to sign up to email series’ on your site through an AJAX powered sidebar widget. It fully supports the CAN-SPAM Act requirements although the malicious spammers among you can turn it off on the settings page.

It supports fully configurable auto-email messges and landing pages for confirmation of signup or unsubscribe.

We will be releasing a Beta in a week or two (Early January 2009)
