A new face for an old site

July 30, 2015 | News | 0 comments

Those of you have been with me since the beginning will know that this site hasn’t really changed a great deal in all that time. I can’t believe it’s been so long that I have been writing here. It was 2008 when this site was set up as a place for me to dump my ‘interesting’ code and write tutorials for people and it’s purpose hasn’t much changed since then.

Although I have gone from being a freelancer to running my own business (still only me though.. just a Ltd company I can work under), the nature of what I do hasn’t changed much either. I’ve always worked with a small number of companies and individuals who need my knowledge and experience in order to get their site or app up and running. I’ve never advertised and only this site and word of mouth has got me this far.

I thought that since it’s been so long that it needed a refresh… enter Tortoise IT website V2. You’ll notice that despite being a company and doing this for a job I’m still keeping the site primarily based around a blog. The content itself is, in fact, the same and I’ve just given it a bit of a facelift. I’d love to say that this is the result of months of turmoil over what element goes where but in actual fact it’s Divi from Elegant Themes with a blank child theme from the outset for when I inevitably want to butcher something about the site down the line. Comments and thoughts about it welcome of course.

So thank you to all those who read this for your comments and ideas. I’ll continue to write blogs and tutorials for you and support my plugins here and on the wordpress.org website.. hopefully more exciting plugin and WP work coming to this site very soon. Watch this space!
